Osiris is relevant for questing and stuff like that, however. Scripting-wise, the base scripting language Osiris and behavior language are unfitting for proper gameplay programming, so adding custom gameplay mechanics is complex without the extender (which adds Lua support and tons of functions). If you want to take War3 as a comparison : roughly between 3 and 5 times more demanding in terms of time (I used both editors but that's a personal, most likely non-accurate asumption) Might I ask how 'hard'/demanding is compared to stuff like Geck from New vegas, or War3 editor, or something of the sort?

There are campaigns/new game modes in the works but like all good things, it takes time. Most of the adventure campaigns on the workshop has been made by single peeps, which severly restrain the amount of content they can generate in that amount of time. Not mentioning that complexity-wise, DOS2 engine takes far more time than two first Baldur's Gate (mapping with 3D stuff takes far more time than mapping with 2D assets, same for creating custom content).

GM mode isnt a campaign per se, it is very limited and someone has to be the GM in order to do stuff, its not actually the same, I dont feel it works even if you would want to tabletop, it doesnt compute well. Was just venting because we almost dropped it today because of this, had to let it out. I dont want to talk about it again, personally. Might be worth a look.Дos2 isnt really an rpg per se for such lack of basic quality mechanics, or I dont consider it like one. Obviously it's not a video game, so somebody's gotta take on the mantle of DM and do some heavy lifting to make it happen, but it's been extremely popular among my friends. My own playgroup's post-DOS2 move wound up being DnD 5e. There are some custom campaigns out there, but not a lot, and certainly none that I've heard about enough to remember and recommend.

To answer your question, Game Master Mode theoretically allows for this, but for whatever reason it never really caught on with the player base. Sorry that the game didn't really stick the landing for you. It allows for more room for personal interpretation, in my opinion, as opposed to things like classic DnD's rigid objective morality or KOTOR's light/dark system, which in my experience dilute dialogue down to simply mashing the good or bad options without consideration.
